We care a lot about keeping your information safe and private. Here is exactly what is kept, who sees it and how to delete it.

What is stored
Your account: the name you choose, and either a password (stored only as a salted hash, never as text) or the public half of your passkey.
What you do in the laundry room: which machine you checked in on and when, the timer you set, a note about where to put your laundry if you leave one, and your bookings.
How busy the room is: a record of when each machine was in use, so the admin can see busy times. It is shown only as totals per hour and day.
Notification addresses: if you turn notifications on, the address your browser or phone gives us so a notification can reach that device.
Messages to you: the short notices shown in the app, such as a reminder to pick up your laundry.
Posts and replies: what you write, with your name or anonymously (see below).
Events: events you add, and the events you sign up for.
Cleaning team: your group, the swaps you ask for or accept, and the favours you owe or are owed. You choose who sees how many favours you have.
Moderation: when an admin removes, hides or holds back something you wrote, or pauses your posting, it is recorded with the reason, together with any appeal.
Roles and settings: any role you have (admin, group lead…), which notifications you turned off, and a record of sensitive admin changes.
Reports and blocks: if you report a name, a note or a post, the admins see who reported it, what was reported and when. If you block someone, that is kept so their name and notes can be hidden from you; they are not told.
Your profile (all optional): a picture (a photo or an emoji), a nickname, a line about you, languages, interests, what you study, your birthday (day and month only), a status and contact details. You choose for each one who sees it: people on this floor, only the admins, or nobody. Contact details are hidden until you open them up.
Your room number: so the admins can confirm which floor you live on. Only the admins see it.
Photos: profile photos, event posters and life-hack covers are made smaller on your device and their hidden details (like where a photo was taken) are removed before they are sent. Only people who are logged in can open them.
Feedback: what you send with the Feedback button, with the app, version and device you used, and any reply.
Which app you use: whether you use the web page, the iPhone app or the Android app, and its version, so the admin knows which versions are still in use.
Nothing else is collected: no email address, location, address book, advertising identifiers or analytics, and nothing is used for tracking. A phone number is kept only if you add one to your profile yourself.
Who can see it
Other people who use this laundry room see your name next to the machine you are using and next to your bookings. The admin can also see when your account was created and last used.
Posts, events and the cleaning team are for this floor. Student housing staff don't see them, unless something is opened to them on purpose, and floor members can see when that happens.
If the admin has turned on looking without logging in, people who aren't logged in see which machines are in use and which times are booked. They see names and notes only if the admin has also chosen to show names.
Anonymous posts
When you post anonymously, other residents and the admins don't see your name. The server keeps who wrote it locked with a separate key, only so it can tell you about your own post and let you delete it.
If an admin needs to know who wrote a post, you are asked first. Your name is shown to the admins only if you agree, and every such question is recorded.
There is one exception, for threats and safety issues: the Developer who runs this page can look up who wrote an anonymous post or reply. They have to give a reason, it is recorded, and you are told.
Where it is kept
Everything is kept on servers run by Cloudflare, the company that hosts this page. The page itself is looked after by whoever set up this laundry room page. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.
Announcements and Skånetrafiken notices are translated into English by Cloudflare's own translation service, on the same servers.
Notifications are delivered through your browser's or phone's own push service (Apple, Google or Mozilla).
The weather, the music title, bus times and bikes are fetched by the server from Open-Meteo or Apple Weather, Last.fm or Spotify, Trafiklab and the bike-share service. Nothing about you is sent to them.
On your phone
The apps keep your sign-in and your settings on the device. Calendar entries, alarms and notifications that the apps create stay on your device and are not sent to us.
The demo
The demo on the login page is a pretend laundry room with made-up roommates. Nothing you do in it is connected to an account or to the real laundry room, and it is deleted within a few hours.
How long it is kept
Check-ins clear themselves after a few hours.
Messages are deleted after 7 days, and bookings 30 days after they happen.
The record of busy times is kept for about 13 months.
Reports are kept for 90 days after an admin has dealt with them.
Message board posts stay until you or an admin remove them.
Event posters are deleted half a year after the event. Your profile photo is deleted when you change it or delete your account.
Your account stays until you delete it.
Deleting your account
Open You in the app or on the web page and choose Delete my account. Your bookings are cancelled, and your check-ins, sign-ins, passkeys, notification addresses, messages and message board posts are deleted right away. Your name is removed from the record of busy times. This cannot be undone.
Names and notes
By creating an account you agree to keep your name and your notes respectful. Names or notes that aren't can be reported and removed, and accounts that keep doing it are deleted. To report one, open the menu on that machine.
